History of republic day

26 January 1950 is one of the most important days in the history of independent India. On this special day, the Constitution of India came into force and a sovereign country was actually born. The big2gest challenge was to maintain independence and become a republican nation. The people of India sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country and drove away the British along with political leaders. Finally, on 15 August 1947, a century-long independence struggle came to an end and India became independent after 200 years of slavery.

The seeds of the Indian Republic of India, held at midnight on 31 December 1930, were sown. At the meeting, the tricolor flag was hoisted and it was resolved to celebrate Republic Day on January. The 26th of every year was taken by the nationalists. The pledge was finally redeemed on 26 January 1950 when the Constitution of India came into force. Immediately after the independence of India, on August 2, 1947, the drafting body was sent by the Constituent Assembly to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar along with six other members were appointed as constitutional advisors. It took about 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to make the Constitution of India. The Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of the nation on 26 November 1949 and 26 January of the following year was chosen as the Republic Day of India.
